Went to see Bruce Springsteen last night with LeighAnne. She's a big fan, and I thought he should be on my list of people I've seen, cuz really, he's a legend. So like most times I see bands that I only peripherally like/know, I have a hard time writing a proper review.
We had GA floor tickets, and they did a lottery system to get into the front closed off section. I thought there would be a catwalk separating the 2 sections like other bands do now (ahem, u2), but no, it was just blocked off. Ok. We didn't do the lottery because initially Lei didn't think she'd be out of work in time, and I left the decision up to her since she's "the fan". She ended up getting out before 3, so instead we grabbed an early dinner at the new trendy white people Mexican restaurant Cantina Loco (it is very yum, but very loud inside), hit up the military surplus store, and then headed to the FNC.
We were at center ice for the show, it was decent, but I couldn't see cuz of the people in front of me. haha That's ok, there were large screens to look at, in an otherwise minimal stage set up. Bruce looks good, and has a lot of energy for his age. I thought he sounded good, from what I could tell. The rest of the E Street Band was impressive too. him. Lei was happy as she got to see 3 of her top 5 songs (pretty sure they were "darkness on the edge of town" "the promised land" and "thunder road".) She/we were hoping for "atlantic city" but no luck. I was really impressed a few weeks ago, listening on Spotify, to "American Skin", so I was happy to hear that. It's very emotional, and quite relevant at the moment. It was an enjoyable experience, definitely glad I got to see
